James’s novel, which is making waves in the world of literature and Hollywood with equal ease. The novel has been famous and notorious at the same time. While some have been delighted at the erotic love story of Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey, others have said that it did not measure up to the yardstick of a literary novel
But E.L. James’s novel is not only about titillation, there is an inherent love story that unfolds in the pages of this dangerously themed novel. On one hand, Ana is a demure and docile young college student, shy and reserved, and on the other hand, Kate is vivacious, outgoing and very social. In the novel, EL James describes her as a woman who has a curvaceous body with green eyes and strawberry-blonde hair. The actress who has been selected to play the part in the movie version of the novel, Eloise Mumford, fits the bill with her natural blonde hair and curvaceous yet slender frame. The cast of the movie venture has already been in the news for all the cast problems and re-cast options that have been tried out and finally selected.
First it was Charlie Hunnam who was selected to play the role of the eccentric millionaire. After he unceremoniously dropped out of the project, Jamie Dornan has been selected to replace him. Let us hope that the choice of Eloise Mumford to play Kate remains a static decision and we get to see more of this erstwhile star of ‘Lone Star’ and ‘Drones’ on the big screen. The character is not only instrumental in bringing Ana and Grey together but she also, pairs up with Christian Grey’s brother Elliot Grey. Though she was a matchmaker of sorts, she becomes vocally disapproving of the contract based relationship that Grey is alluring Ana into.
 From the time she realises that Grey has been responsible for making Ana cry, she vehemently reproaches Grey, but only in Ana’s absence. In her presence however, they have to act civil so that they do not hurt Ana. She is one of the first people to realise the controlling nature of the relationship that Ana and Grey share and how that slowly paves the path to a contract based physical relationship. Eloise Mumford gives us one more reason to look forward to the 2015 Valentine’s Day release of ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’.

With a novel like “Fifty Shades of Grey”, the author E.L. James has not only brought out BDSM and other sexual acts out from the closet. The novel can be called the romance of Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey, but it is probably the one of its kind romance novel where sexual practices like bondage, discipline, submission, masochism etc. are brought out into the fore. The romance between Ana and Christians what forms the core of the novel. But the seemingly perfect romance between this college graduate and the intimidating businessman takes a turn when he resorts to the above mentioned sexual practices.

The harmless romance takes a turn for the murky when the docile college student, Anastasia Steele and the 27 year old business magnate turn to ropes and masks and whips and spanking to derive sexual pleasure. Though Grey shows signs of sensitivity, starting with pulling Anastasia out of the way of a rushing cyclist, yet for the most part of the novel he remains as grey as his surname. The sensitivity is reinforced when he sends her a copy of Tess of the d’Urbervilles, which is a first edition. And when he comes to pick up a very drunk Anastasia, after she ends up dialling him in a drunken state also makes Christian Grey a true romantic hero.

The bestselling erotic trilogy Fifty Shades of Grey has taken the world on by storm. It's not only out grossed the Harry Potter and Twilight series, but the up-and-coming movie adaptation of the novel is already the hottest topic in showbiz and it hasn't even been cast yet. It all begins rather simply. Anastasia Steele, a 21-year-old college student, is sent to Seattle to cover an interview for her sick roommate Kate. While Ana is expecting to interview a middle-aged CEO, she is surprised to find Christian Grey not only young, but dazzlingly handsome! Ana makes a dramatic entrance and ends up on her hands and knees, fumbling round the awkward sexual tension she eventually reads out Kate's prewritten questions, including the embarrassing "are you gay" question. While Anastasia leaves the interview feeling like a failure and also with her mind stuck on Mr. Grey, the pair are reunited when Christian hunts her down at her place of work.

What starts out like a normal romance turns strange very quickly. Christian makes Ana sign a non disclosure form before anything can happen between them and introduces her to his red room of pain. Naturally, this shocks the virginal college girl, but she tries to keep an open mind. Their sexual relationship releases Ana's inner goddess - but it's not enough for Mr. Grey. Christian wants Ana as his submissive. He even gives her a contract to sign with a bunch of clauses pertaining to her lifestyle as well as in the bedroom. Ana is so desperately obsessed with Christian she agrees to participate in his perverse fantasies. What is interesting about the story is that Ana isn't really a submissive. She demands a SAAB instead of an Audi in the second book, and Mr. Grey happily obliges. Even in the bedroom she just plays along with the submissive role in their S&M scenes, but it's clear to see she's not into it. She definitely doesn't enjoy pain and mostly goes along with the whole thing to please Christian. One thing that's certain is that Christian is not a family man. He doesn't do normal relationships that last over three months, yet in a smaller time frame he not only marries Ana, but even though he's so obsessive about Ana's contraception, by the end of book three the couple have two children. As we have just announced, Dakota Johnson is to play the innocent student Anastasia Steele in the upcoming movie. We’re leaving the official blurb up from E.L. James as we cannot believe our eyes.

It is reported Dakota is working on another film, Cymbeline. Well, we think she should quit that immediately as Fifty fans have waited long enough. Whatever that movie is, it’s not nearly as important as Fifty Shades. Dakota needs to get practising all those safe words, not to mention that inner goddess. She also has to get the art of biting that bottom lip right.

So, where shall we start?  Are we happy with the choice of Anastasia? How will Dakota look behind the counter of the DIY store and driving her battered old banger of a car which she loves? I think they have a very big job ahead of them casting this role. So, I can’t say anything other than it’s a very interesting story and whoever plays that role is going to have a lot of fun, rehearsal time.”

This is a contrast to Somerhalder’s earlier enthusiasm. Somerhalder was even looking up how to equip his own dungeon, but as one fan noted “Ian does not seem quite as confident anymore.”

Stephen Amell, who is another possible contender, recently hinted that the Fifty Shades of Grey casting is underway, but there have been no official announcements. The examiner makes a good case for Jensen Ackles as Christian Grey, but does he have what it takes to knock Ian Somerhalder off the top spot to grab the whip-wielding crowing spot of Christian Grey in the movie adaptation of E.L. James’s famous books. A lot could still happen between now and the official casting, so perhaps Jensen could gain popularity, or maybe another unknown talent could steal the top spot for Christian Grey. Meet the new dark haired beauty who could give Emilia Clarke and Alexis Bledel some stiff competition. Eve Hewson might be an actress who is under the radar, but you’ll know who her daddy is – U2’s Bono.

Ever since the rights for Fifty Shades of Grey have got picked up by Universal Studios and Focus Features, the whole world has been trying to find the ideal Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey, and with a potential release date for summer 2014, things are getting crazy, although there is still a director that needs to be found.

In the contest for the girls, it’s a stiff battle between Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke, who is currently the favorite in the lead, Gilmore Girls star Alexis Bledel, among other fan favorites like Nina Dobrev, Felicity Jones, Emma Watson and Lucy Hale. The favorite for the girls is in a constant state of flux, with new names being continuously added, with the latest coming from Bono’s daughter Eve Hewson.

Eve definitely has all the necessary physical qualities for Anastasia since she’s got big, beautiful blue eyes and dark hair. She’s also close in age to Anastasia, aged 22-years-old, which would make her a convincing choice to play the role of a  college girl.

It’s very easy to splice Henry Cavill into a Fifty Shades fan made trailer after a fragrance campaign he participated in a couple of years back that bears an uncanny resemblance to Christian Grey. While Clarke, has the innocent, big blue-eyed beauty that we come to expect from Anastasia Steele. Her role as platinum blonde Daenerys in Game of Thrones has shown us that Clarke is more than just a pretty face.

It’s going to be one of the hottest movies of the decade, so it’s understandable why a number of actors and actresses are desperate in getting cast. But it’s not just the unknown who want to delve into the world of the red room of pain, but better-known actors, even some A-listers.

The latest name to be thrown into the mix where casting is concerned is one that surprises us too – Matt Damon.

So far the project has had its fair share of big names. Angelina Jolie expressed an interest in Fifty Shades of Grey a while back, and many think she’d make a great Elena or perhaps she should use her directing skills to bring the raunchy movie to life. Alexis Bledel is probably the number one fan favorite to play Anastasia Steele in 50 shades of grey movie. When asked what she thought about playing in this role, she replied with.

“I really don’t know what to say about that,” she responded. But after being pressed more and asked if she would star in the movie she loosened up a bit.

“I have no idea,” confessed the actress, “You know, I really don’t know a lot about it, except that fans have made a trailer online. I know as much as you know. I’ve seen what you’ve seen, and I’ve probably had a similar reaction to yours.”

It looks like Alexis doesn’t want to reply neither here nor there to press questions.

Gus Van Sant to Direct Fifty Shades of Grey Movie

While fans are busy discussing who’ll be cast as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, there is one crucial element of the movie that we all keep forgetting – the director.

Even the studios and E.L. James have said that casting will not take place until a director is found, so we’re pretty sure we’re not going to discover who’ll be playing Christian Grey or Anastasia Steele until this is resolved.

It’s a tasty position for any budding director, and while Fifty Shades of Grey may not be considered high culture, it is pretty much guaranteed to be one of the biggest movies of the decade.

One director who is seeking to add his name to the list is Gus Van Sant, who has made quite an unusual demonstration on his bid to become director.

The twice Oscar-nominated director has shot a steamy scenes with one Christian Grey favorite, Alex Pettyfer, to land the job of director, according to the Wrap. Eager to prove he’s the ideal director, he shot the test reel at his own initiative.

As a joke, on April 14 at the MTV Movie Awards, Jonah Hill volunteered in the part of Christian Grey, to star alongside the 22-year-old Watson in what is deemed to be the hottest movie of the decade, and not just in its saucy content.

“I’m announcing officially that we’ll be starring in the screen adaptation of 50 Shades of Grey,” Jonah Hill said when he introduced Emma Watson who took the Trailblazer award, “My safety word is tangerine,” he continued, “If I say that word you have to stop doing stuff to me.”

So, despite the rumors that were released after the hackers anonymous published supposed internal documents on the internet from the German studio Constantin who are involved in the production of Fifty Shades of Grey, where they said that Watson was signed to the film. After Watson’s denial, it looks like no that Watson may have only been on the “studio wish list,” which would make more sense, since the actress definitely wasn't confirmed for the role.

At the moment, the studios are on the hunt for a director and it’s highly unlikely we’ll hear any further news on the movie until Universal Studios and Focus Features get their director. However, casting is drawing closer since the movie studios are aiming for a summer 2014 release, so we’re sure to hear something soon.            

Henry Cavill talks Fifty Shades of Grey Will he be Christian Grey?

He’s been one of the fan favorites ever since Universal Studios and Focus Features bought the rights to the Fifty Shades of Grey books, and things seem to still be looking positive for Henry Cavill where Christian Grey is concerned.

While he has a huge fan following, especially since the actor is about to rocket into stardom as Superman in the latest Man of Steel movie, the 30-year-old British stud hasn’t been approached by the movie’s producers as of yet.

“Put it this way, I’ve not read a script, spoken to a producer or a director,” Cavill had said during a press conference, “Not exactly chaste writing, is it. I’ve always preferred the implied  scene anyway, because having it spelled out always seems a bit tacky. Sex is so readily available to us in every form of media now, so it’s no longer that exciting on screen.”

Does that mean that he wouldn’t be interested in the project? We somehow believe that if the actor were approached with the role, he would most likely take it.

However, it looks like the speculation behind the casting is continuing, even though the movie is scheduled for release around this time next year. Ian Somerhalder hasn’t kept it a secret that he would love the role in Fifty Shades of Grey, while other favorite Stephen Amell has stated that he will not be playing Christian Grey.

So far any news on casting has been very quiet, and despite the rumors about the producers Dana Brunetti and Mike De Lucca meeting with Henry Cavill’s agency, it seems the former Tudors star hasn’t heard anything to suggest otherwise.

Cavill is hot property at the moment, so having his name attached to the movie would be a good move on Brunetti and De Lucca’s part, so we just have to wait and see if he’ll get cast or not.

To many fans, Henry Cavill is Christian Grey, with his classic good looks and charm. There is even a rumor that his fragrance campaign from a few years back inspired E.L. James’s creation of Christian Grey, where he took on the persona of a chic, elegant man with a helicopter and a beautiful brunette, with whom he got steamy with. Not to mention he inspired Edward Cullen for Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight, which later would go onto inspire E.L. James’s Fifty Shades of Grey.
