By now the “Fifty Shades...” movie adaptation is known for its ensemble star cast as much as its high profile cast changes, marked by celebrity entries and exits. We had already heard that the team was shooting in Vancouver and some of the crucial scenes had already been shot, when the weather started playing spoilt sport and there was also a well earned Christmas break waiting for them. Having returned from a well deserved break, the “Fifty Shades.....” team is now ready to resume shooting and E. L. James, the author who has penned the racy novels, is also not the one to sit back and enjoy when she knows that her baby is out there. By baby, we of course mean her venture, the film version of her novel. After all, she is also one of the producers of the adaptation.

The film, which is slated for a Valentine’s release in February 2015, is being directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, and ever since the shooting of the film began in December in Vancouver, the two power women, Sam and Erica have been deeply engrossed and associated with the project. Hence, when the team resumed shooting in Vancouver, it was only natural that Erica would ‘head back’ and join them. After casting Jamie Dornan, Dakota Johnson and Victor Rasuk as the primary players of the movie ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’, if there was one character that was left to be cast it was Katherine Cavanaugh or Kate as she is popularly known in E.L. James’s novel, which is making waves in the world of literature and Hollywood with equal ease. The novel has been famous and notorious at the same time. While some have been delighted at the erotic love story of Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey, others have said that it did not measure up to the yardstick of a literary novel
But E.L. James’s novel is not only about titillation, there is an inherent love story that unfolds in the pages of this dangerously themed novel. The bestselling erotic trilogy Fifty Shades of Grey has taken the world on by storm. It's not only out grossed the Harry Potter and Twilight series, but the up-and-coming movie adaptation of the novel is already the hottest topic in showbiz and it hasn't even been cast yet. It all begins rather simply. Anastasia Steele, a 21-year-old college student, is sent to Seattle to cover an interview for her sick roommate Kate. While Ana is expecting to interview a middle-aged CEO, she is surprised to find Christian Grey not only young, but dazzlingly handsome! Ana makes a dramatic entrance and ends up on her hands and knees, fumbling round the awkward sexual tension she eventually reads out Kate's prewritten questions, including the embarrassing "are you gay" question. While Anastasia leaves the interview feeling like a failure and also with her mind stuck on Mr. Grey, the pair are reunited when Christian hunts her down at her place of work.

As we have just announced, Dakota Johnson is to play the innocent student Anastasia Steele in the upcoming movie. We’re leaving the official blurb up from E.L. James as we cannot believe our eyes.

It is reported Dakota is working on another film, Cymbeline. Well, we think she should quit that immediately as Fifty fans have waited long enough. Whatever that movie is, it’s not nearly as important as Fifty Shades. Dakota needs to get practising all those safe words, not to mention that inner goddess. She also has to get the art of biting that bottom lip right.

So, where shall we start?  Are we happy with the choice of Anastasia? How will Dakota look behind the counter of the DIY store and driving her battered old banger of a car which she loves? Fans have been going crazy over casting speculations over who will be cast as Christian grey In Fifty Shades of Grey Movie. Jensen joins the growing list which include Ian Somerhalder,Matt Bomer and Henry Cavill as the leading contenders for the role

Christian Grey is a skilled, yet modest, pianist and singer. There are many scenes from the book where Ana Steele finds Christian playing the piano alone. She is in awe of his abilities and grows a deeper love for the complex man,” continues the Examiner, “Jensen Ackles is known for being a talented singer and guitar player, often taking the stage for jam sessions. While on the series ‘Dark Angel’, Jensen also played a Chopin piece on the piano.”

The examiner makes a good case for Jensen Ackles as Christian Grey, but does he have what it takes to knock Ian Somerhalder off the top spot to grab the whip-wielding crowing spot of Christian Grey in the movie adaptation of E.L. James’s famous books. A lot could still happen between now and the official casting, so perhaps Jensen could gain popularity, or maybe another unknown talent could steal the top spot for Christian Grey. Hopefully Universal will put all of us out of our miseries soon! 

U2’s Bono Daugther Eve Hewson up in the Running to Play Anastasia Steele

Meet the new dark haired beauty who could give Emilia Clarke and Alexis Bledel some stiff competition. Eve Hewson might be an actress who is under the radar, but you’ll know who her daddy is – U2’s Bono.

Ever since the rights for Fifty Shades of Grey have got picked up by Universal Studios and Focus Features, the whole world has been trying to find the ideal Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey, and with a potential release date for summer 2014, things are getting crazy, although there is still a director that needs to be found.

In the contest for the girls, it’s a stiff battle between Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke, who is currently the favorite in the lead, Gilmore Girls star Alexis Bledel, among other fan favorites like Nina Dobrev, Felicity Jones, Emma Watson and Lucy Hale. The favorite for the girls is in a constant state of flux, with new names being continuously added, with the latest coming from Bono’s daughter Eve Hewson.

Eve definitely has all the necessary physical qualities for Anastasia since she’s got big, beautiful blue eyes and dark hair. She’s also close in age to Anastasia, aged 22-years-old, which would make her a convincing choice to play the role of a  college girl.

Henry Cavill and Emilia Clarke gain support from social media

Cavill might have started lower down the list, the Man of Steel star has been gaining in popularity bit by bit, and is even tipped by some to be the most likely of the big three, along with Ian Somerhalder and Matt Bomer to be cast.

Both Emilia and Cavill have a lot going for them, and many fans are beginning to take note. Both actors have received a lot of focus on social networking sites, and are becoming increasingly popular in fan made trailers.

It’s very easy to splice Henry Cavill into a Fifty Shades fan made trailer after a fragrance campaign he participated in a couple of years back that bears an uncanny resemblance to Christian Grey. While Clarke, has the innocent, big blue-eyed beauty that we come to expect from Anastasia Steele. Her role as platinum blonde Daenerys in Game of Thrones has shown us that Clarke is more than just a pretty face.

Matt Damon to star in Fifty Shades of Grey

It’s going to be one of the hottest movies of the decade, so it’s understandable why a number of actors and actresses are desperate in getting cast. But it’s not just the unknown who want to delve into the world of the red room of pain, but better-known actors, even some A-listers.

The latest name to be thrown into the mix where casting is concerned is one that surprises us too – Matt Damon.

So far the project has had its fair share of big names. Angelina Jolie expressed an interest in Fifty Shades of Grey a while back, and many think she’d make a great Elena or perhaps she should use her directing skills to bring the raunchy movie to life. Ryan Gosling has been linked with Christian Grey since Universal Studios and Focus Features bought the rights, but his favor continues to fluctuate when set against Ian Somerhalder, Matt Bomer and British actor Henry Cavill.
